Whored, I have a SOA

In the IT-landscape, we make sometimes odd goat leap. Present within our sector the notion SOA is the buzzword. About that we can become quite enthousiastically about, but it does oddly look up not-IT' ers sometimes: SOA stands by not-techneuten after all for Sexually Transmissible Disorder.

But we IT' ers its in spite of on our SOA and these days are flooded with seminars as: Do 'SOA in the practice', 'Experiences with SOA' or 'SOA, how I take that”' We know naturally that in our jargon SOA stands for Service Oriented Architectures.

SOA to visualize, can we the comparing with the evolution of the home movie theater in our living room. Years ago is the first videorecorder come in. That we connected source on the coax-cable of the cable farmer and the exit on the television.

Since then we have see pass PlayStation, dvd-readers, XBox, dvd-recorders, mp3-players, et cetera. Meanwhile the average living room sees from it as a NASA-labexperiment, with all sorts of cables, scarts and other connections between all these systems.

They are connected not only at the Tv, are connected they also all at each other. For I must be able to take up naturally old cassettes on my dvd-recorder. What we keep, is a spaghetti-kluwe of threads and cables. A man would be able to hit of less in disarray.

The same is there at the hand in the IT-world. These days see the most IT-surroundings it a little bit from as our living rooms, with everywhere systems, applications, data bass and such, that all with each other connected its data about to pump and information out to change.

And also that is this historical gegroeid through everything with everything to connect, with till consequence a giantic ball of connections. One speaks once in a while of IT-architecture, but in the most businesses is that architecture a sad fuss, until position come without view.

A number year ago is in our living room the solution come: home movie theater. Today state in many living room a brilliant box to shine, where all devices on connected are and that the central gateway to the screen closed forms: everything passes the home movie theater.

In the IT-landscape, we have see come up a similar draft: Enterprise Application Integration, or EAI.
