Nokia and Sanyo announce merger
[3GSM, Barcelona] Nokia and Sanyo announced divide to join of their gsm-divisions together till a new business. A full merger is not it however; it goes only the production of CDMA-apparatuses.
Telephones with network technology become sold especially in America and Japan. That is expected goes the new gsm-builder in the fall of start. A name for the venture is not yet known.
Code-Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is a competitor for the GSM-network technology and becomes everywhere in the world uses - except of in Europe. Especially in America and Azi, providers trust works CDMA, that partly on other frequencies (0.8 and 1.9 GHz) then GSM (0.8 and 1.8 GHz).
Nokia sees to conquer in the new business possibly a second chance these markets. The Finse business has succeeds indeed CDMA-versions of its telephones in its assortment, but to not to become there in the market leader in this market. Sanyo stands strengthen then again in Japan and Azi, but is elsewhere less known.
