Google Desktop also for Linux
Single months after a version for Mac has Google now also a beta of Google Desktop for Linux launched. A Dutch version is not missing on the appl.
Google Desktop is a program from the familiar surroundings of the desk leaf to seek to truces and information on the internet and the hard disk of the computer.
Single months Google ago launched is in such a way a Mac-version of the program, now it the turn at the Linux-platform. Version 1.0.1 comes in two versions for x86-computers: a rpm-truce for Reason Was named, Fedora, Suse and Mandriva; and a deb-truce for Debian and Ubuntu. The beta is available in 10 scores, below which also the Dutch.
Google Desktop for Linux became rewritten complete. The program do not does an occupation on Googles own searchalgoritmes, thus on existing missing positions for Linux as Beagle.
Google Desktop for Linux is closed software. The code can be adapted and divided thus not free, in contrast till single other open source projects of Google.
Other software of Google for the Linux-platform its Google Earth, Google Toolbar and Picasa.
