Data bank of European traffic online
The Netherlands has developed a data bank with all sorts of information about cars, drivers and getransporteerde good from various European countries. This Traffic Documentation System (TDS) must simplify the work of the police.
The TDS contain present information from and is online in the Netherlands, Belgi, France, Germany and Large-Brittanni. Yet five countries will follow shortly. The data bank has been developed support by the Dutch traffic police, on behalf of the European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) and with financile by the European Union.
According to the European Association or Chief Police Officers (ACPO), the data bank “a valuable instrument will be occupies in the European fight against everybody that self with illegal activities, below which terrorisms smuggle, and counterfeit”.
That is rather ambitious for an organization whose targets it according to the statutes of the European Commission yet always is “the various national actions for the maintaining of the traffic rule on European level to cordineren”.
